It was just past midnight when Everett Dawson, a hobbyist relic collector, pried open the rusted cellar door of the condemned St. Pious Church where the the “Moxie Manor Murders” took place. Legends whispered about a ghost sealed inside a glass jar—a girl who died in the church and cursed the land with screams from the grave.

In the crumbling vestry behind the altar, Everett found it. A jar smaller than his pinkie, sealed in cork, wrapped in canvas, secured with twine, and cold to the touch. Inside, a coiled scroll shimmered like fog trapped in glass. A brittle parchment waited inside.

THE WHISPERS

That night, the jar began to pulse faintly. Everett awoke to soft whispers echoing from inside his wall. His cat hissed at the jar. The scroll had uncoiled slightly, revealing a name: Riley Spears

He ignored it.

The lights flickered. Mold spread unnaturally fast in corners. His mirror refelected someone standing behind him, head bowed. He moved the jar to the attic and locked it in a box. The whispering turned to weeping.

At 3:13 AM, Everett received a single email from an unknown address:
"You have disturbed the ghost. May god have mercy on your soul."

THE PRICE

That night, his neighbors reported hearing chanting, but his house stood quiet for three days. When police finally entered, they found the home empty and in the locked attic room was the tiny box with nothing inside.

No sign of Everett was ever found—but an investigator swore they saw a figure silently screaming in a mirror.

The Jar was never discovered.
